Virucidal Tests
Disinfectants with fully virucidal activity prevent diseases caused by enveloped and non-enveloped viruses from spreading.
Viruses are classified as enveloped and non-enveloped. Non-enveloped viruses such as poliovirus and polyomavirus are more resistant to chemical disinfectants compared to enveloped viruses. Disinfectants can be evaluated using a suspension test (phase 2 step 1). Select one of the tests below to learn more.

EN 14476:2013+A2:2019
EN 14476 is a phase 2 step 1 suspension test for the evaluation of virucidal activity of disinfectants intended for use in the medical area.

EN 14675:2015
EN 14675 is a phase 2 step 1 suspension test for the evaluation of virucidal activity of disinfectants intended for use in the veterinary area.
